Professor Jay Lee, IMS director, to receive 2008 CIE Distinguished Service Award
Prof. Jay Lee, director of IMS Center, has been elected by Chinese Institute of Engineers-USA /Greater New York Chapter (CIE-USA) as a recipient of the 2008 CIE Distinguished Service Award for his outstanding achievements. The award will be presented at the Institute’s 2008 CIE Convention to be held on Saturday, November 8, 2008 at Newark Airport Marriott Hotel, Newark, New Jersey.
CIE-USA has a long history, founded in 1917, it is the oldest and most well-organized Chinese American Professional Society in North America. Its purpose has been for the well being of the Chinese engineers and scientists here and abroad. Under this goal, CIE-USA sponsors or co-sponsors many significant activities in the US and abroad, such as AAEOY, biennial METS and SATEC. The CIE Awards were established in 1957, and have been given annually to recognize individuals of Chinese origin who made the extraordinary contributions in science, engineering, entrepreneurship and governmental or industrial services.
